And Summer Went Where??!

Hello!
So sorry it has been so long since we've updated our blog. I meant to all of August, but life just got so crazy. We have had so many fantastic and awesome adventures this last month, it would just be terrible if we didn't write them down somewhere.

We had two amazing family vacations in August....and in order to go into more detail I decided to make a post for each of them on their own! They were just that special! Family is so important and the time we had to spend with Mitch's family and my family was priceless.

Just a couple of updates on us are in order I suppose....

- I can't remember if I ever wrote this down, but Mitch finished another semester at BYU-Idaho at the end of July! This means he has one more year of school (two semesters on campus and one internship!) assuming everything goes how it should. I'm so proud of him--he's worked full time all through school which is something I never did. We're both very excited for him to graduate next July in Construction Management. He starts school up again September 10th...I think.

- Our plant that we bought a couple months after we were married is still alive!
Not that we're intentional or even accidental plant killers...but this poor guy hardly ever gets any attention. Or water. Don't let the blurry picture fool you, he's quite healthy.
I think.

- WE'VE BEEN MARRIED FOR 252 DAYS!
I really can't believe it. What's even harder to believe is that life just keeps getting better and better. Its so nice to have someone to share life with! I've never been happier. Hopefully Mitch feels the same...hahaha.

(That's cake on our faces. Just fyi.)
- We've been boating a couple hundred times. AWESOME. Its kinda funny that both of our families had vacations that revolved around a lake and a boat. I LOVE IT. More about that on future posts though. I have MANY pictures. :)

- We had the opportunity to go to our nephew's baby blessing! Mitch's brother Tyler and his wife Laura and their two kiddos came up to Idaho on vacation, and just happened to bless their little baby Ben. It was the first nephew/niece baby blessing either of us had been to! (Mitch was on his mission when his niece was born!)

- Oh yeah, I started TEACHING! I think that's going to deserve its own blog post too. There's just too much to talk about there. BUT what a great opportunity. I feel so blessed and privileged to be working at this particular school with co-workers who are truly walking angels. Everything has just fallen to place so nicely, I can't even begin to say how grateful I am!
And I LOVE IT!

- Hunting season is here. Mitch talks about hunting easily more than the average person, but the last two weeks in particular it is very obvious what is on his mind. I love seeing him so excited! He drew one elk tag and two deer tags! We're hoping for lots of meat this fall....enough to make it worth it to buy another freezer!

- Mitch's birthday is coming up in September! He's going to be an old man. Very old. More about that when it happens... :)

Well...I think that about covers it for now. Keep an eye out for some posting about our two perfect vacations and another one about my classroom! (Hopefully they really come....)

Life is so good. I really don't think I could be any happier. It is so interesting how well the Lord knows us and obviously knows what He's doing! I'm grateful that families are forever and that Mitch and I can be together for eternity. It just makes life so much more meaningful!

Uh huh!

At Church the other day during a lesson on family history, Mitch and I had this idea to turn our blog into a book every year...kind of to make up for my lack in the area of scrapbooking I suppose...and just for a fun keepsake! There's some really cool places online that will turn a blog into a hardcover book. How cool is that?! For some reason it is a lot easier for me to write in a little blog than to write in a journal or scrapbook. I still do both, but definitely not as often!

This post is going to be somewhat random. Who am I kidding...that's the theme of our blog: random.

I was looking at my little sister's Facebook page today and I found this photo. It cracked me up. Her caption said:

‎1:00 the morning of her wedding and what is she doing? Eating ribs.

That's totally me. The comments under the picture were pretty good too. :)
Anyways, back to our summer. So on the last post I pretty much tried to sum up the last month or so, but I missed a ton of stuff. I was looking at my phone today and found some--you guessed it--random pictures from the last little while and I just had to add them.
This is the little guy I worked with last school year! I was with him all day...quite
the challenge, but I really loved it. Even though he was a bit of a pill, I miss him!

I FINALLY FINISHED MY QUILT!

It feels so good to have it done :)

Hibbard Sunset! Idaho is the BEST.

We love the Mongonlian Grill!
We went to the Relay for Life in Pocatello with my family.
My little sister makes a team to do it every year in memory of my brother Morgan.
I went to Salt Lake to take my cousin to my Grandma's house
so she could catch a flight the next week. Obviously we had to get
milkshakes from ICEBERG!
My Grandma got me hooked.
I also got to see my Grandpa Nye and Grandma Phyllis!
I wish I lived closer to all my grandparents.
Brigham City Temple
It is beautiful! I stopped on my way home from Salt Lake.
This was also the weekend Mitch went fishing and used his phone for bait.
Didn't work out so well.

Look at that sky!
Yep, LOVE Idaho.

More sky. On a Sunday night.

Mitch eating bacon. Shocker.
See those flowers? We have them all over our wall.
Mitch helped me make them :)

Mitch has been busy helping me get ready for teaching 1st grade!
This week we made a bunch of stuff. I saw some phonics phones on a teacher website
that I really wanted....so he made me some for an 1/8 of the cost.
The phonics phones are on the left...and the things on the right are reading wands!
They have question on them to ask while reading a story.

Some Smarty Pants for my classroom...it is a behavior
thing...when they answer a question right or need
some motivation I have them go get a Smartie candy out of the pants.
Ha...sounds funny, I know.
Ok. That's it.
